Dina Foods Scoop Accolades at The West London Business Awards 2023
At the 2023 annual West London Awards, Dina Foods was honoured to be awarded not one, but two prestigious accolades. Dina Foods was crowned ‘Best in the West’ for:
- Food and Drink Business of the Year
- High Growth SME of the Year
.Dina Foods prides itself every day in its authenticity, quality, high standards and customer service first approach being a family run company and this has been recognised and echoed by the West London Business Awards, who celebrate excellence as their objective. These Awards felt particularly special as the Awarding body celebrate their tenth anniversary this year also.
Dina Foods was nominated for these Awards amongst over 400 other business leaders and entrepreneurs in the West, so we are so proud to have been selected as the winners in these categories.
The Food and Drink Business of the Year was awarded to Dina Foods in the SME Sector Leadership category and Dina Foods also won The High Growth SME of the Year within the Economic Resilience category of the Awards, as “their impressive growth speaks volumes for a company that has felt large shockwaves in recent times. They have invested wisely and strategically, and are returning to what they do best – making lots of dough!”, according to this years’ panel of judges.
To increase sales, Dina Foods management initiated a comprehensive strategic review of the business with the objective of laying the foundation for a medium to long term strategic management structure that would ensure suitable growth and profitability. Specific objectives and actions were developed for implementation across a five-year plan.
The last few years have seen a huge demand for Lebanese cuisine and Dina Foods has worked with a number of major customers to introduce bread and baklawa into their ranges to capitalise on this demand in the Grocery/Retail channel, both in the UK and internationally. While this has seen a positive increase in sales, it was noted by the management team that the production machinery could not meet this demand. Given the limited space available on site, bespoke machinery was designed to enhance the current line. This included the upgrade and introduction of a new dough sheeter, proofer and dough divider. The designs of these new items would not only capitalise on the limited space available but would increase the output from 10,000 pieces of bread per hour to 15,000 pieces per hour for this line alone.
Dina’s long-term strategic plan has resulted in increasing turnover year-on-year, allowing it to not only whether the storm in 2020, but also make and realise plans for high growth during the post-pandemic era.
Dina Foods is thrilled to showcase these Awards in our growing portfolio of accolades to date. This drives us to continue to meet our high standards every day and we look forward to continue representing the ‘Best in the West’ in future years, as well as striving for other esteemed awards. Watch out world!…
